ERW Pipe Manufacturing Process
In the first step hot rolled coils are slitted as required, then after these coils are uncoiled, ends are sheared and then one after another welding is done. After that the slitted coils are initially formed into U shape and after that into a cylindrical shape with open edges utilising a series of forming rolls. Then high frequency, low-voltage, high current is passed between the two edges of the steel to heat the steel to the forging temperature at which the edges are forced together to form a perfect and strong but weld bond without the use of welding filler material. This process welds the pipe longitudinally.
