APPARATUS REQUIRED FOR THE TEST:-

• Balance – (0.5 % accuracy)
• Cylindrical metal container- (3, 15, & 30 liter)
• Tamping rod (16 mm diameter & 60 cm long)

Apparatus for Bulk Density Test of Aggregates 

PROCEDURE OF THE TEST :-

1. Take the appropriate container & weight it.
2. Fill the sample in container in 3 layers.
3. Each layer contains 25 stokes with tamping rod.
4. Plain the surface with tamping rod used as straightedge.
5. Then weight the container with sample.

CALCULATION :-

M₂= Mass of container + sample (Kg)

V= Volume of container (L)
